Southern California Real Estate?

Question by ……: Southern California Real Estate?
Hi everyone.

So I keep hearing on tv that California’s Real Estate Market is not doing so well, home prices have fallen, and I want to know which cities would this apply to?…Where in Southern California can you find a good house in a nice neighborhood for under $ 200,000?

Thanks!
Thank You everyone!

Stockton, Bakersfield, Fresno and anywhere else in the valley. Desert areas like Palmdale. Condos in the Clairemont and El Cajon areas of San Diego. Just start plugging in zip codes on your favorite real estate site. I’m not going to do that for you.

Prices in LA are around 400,000. They WERE up in 600,000 range.

Try the Fresno area, or the Victorville area.

Psh! The only reason it’s that much is people don’t want to live there.

Try Fresno (my best friend lives there and hates it.)

They are regaining by the way. I’ve noticed houses have been going up again.

it’s true that the real estate market in southern california is dramatically lower, but prices to live in a good area and in a house are still EXTREMELY expensive compared to the rest of the nation. you can not buy even the smallest/crappiest house in a decent area in the southern california for less then 400,000$ unless it was out in a small desert town in the middle of knowwhere. for 200,000$ , it would barely buy a house in a place like compton which is one of the worst areas to live in. it could however, maybe buy you a 1 or 2 bed condo in a decent area, so that might be something to look into. so, i would not move here unless you wanted to spend at least 500,000$ on a house. good luck.

My family paid over 500,000 for a 3 bedroom house in Inglewood. My mom is a real estate agent. You will not find a house for that price in L.A thats for sure.
